Us
The
firm began on November 1, 1972, when James R. "Jimmy"
Knight and Stephen K. Griffith formed
the partnership. The firm's office has remained in
the Griffith Building in downtown Cullman since its inception.
Over the years, the firm has grown to include three other
partners and became known as Knight, Griffith, McKenzie,
Knight & McLeroy, LLP in 2004.
Jimmy
Knight has practiced law for more than 40 years,
beginning as a sole practitioner when he was 24 years old.
Always a strong advocate for his clients, Jimmy has also
been active in politics for many years. Jimmy has
served as chairman of the Alabama Democratic Party and president
of the Alabama Trial Lawyers Association.
Steve
Griffith, who comes from a family of lawyers and
judges, began practicing in 1968 and later joined Jimmy
Knight in what has become a uniquely long-running
law partnership which has been successful and well known.
Steve serves on the Alabama Board of Bar Commissioners and
has served on the Alabama Bar Association's Executive Council.
Sister
Lynn Marie McKenzie joined the firm in 1985.
As a Catholic nun, Sister Lynn possesses a unique perspective
on the practice of law as well as honesty and integrity.
In
1987, Jason P. Knight became a lawyer in the
firm where he had grown up coming to visit his father's
office. Jason is an exceptionally gifted trial lawyer
and has assisted many people in getting compensation for
their injuries.
Todd
McLeroy joined the firm in 1993, after having served
as a clerk for then Justice Hugh Maddox at the Alabama Supreme
Court. Possessing common sense and understanding,
as well as keen mind and a gift for research and writing,
Todd brings an irreplaceable element to his clients and
to his partners.
With
these five law partners possessing combined experience of
more than 125 years, Knight, Griffith, McKenzie, Knight
& McLeroy, LLP is the largest law firm in the
history of Cullman County, Alabama. With their legal
experience along with energy and hard work, the lawyers
